The 9th Assault Parachute Regiment "Col Moschin" is the special forces unit of the Italian Army, since September 20, 1954, it has been the precursor of Italian special forces units.
The "Col Moschin" Regiment is part of the Army Special Forces Command and guards the flag of the IX Assault Unit, from which it inherited the year of establishment (1918), the name of the place of an epic action, and the insignia (black flames of the Arditi), readopted in 2006. Since 1995, as part of the restructuring of the Italian Army, it has transitioned from a battalion to a regiment.
